ABOUT TONY MAREE
Leadership | Wisdom | Fulfillment | Legacy
“There is no trade-off between living a well-rounded life and high performance. It’s actually improved when our lives include time for renewal, wisdom, wonder, and giving. Knowing that sooner, would have saved me a lot of unnecessary stress, burnout, and exhaustion.”

WHAT BRINGS PEOPLE HERE:
Some of my clients run established firms turning over multiple seven figures. Others are building lean, scrappy operations that are gaining traction. Still others hold executive positions where every decision has consequences. What brings them to me isn’t the size of their business, or even the industry they’re in. It’s the load they’re carrying.
They’re a person the business depends on. Decisions run through them. Problems land with them. When something wobbles, they’re the one steadying the table.
At a certain point, pushing harder stops producing better outcomes. The returns diminish, but the effort keeps escalating.
After 25 years and more than 12,000 hours of paid coaching, the pattern is clear.
The traits that drive early success – competence, speed, ownership – eventually create friction as responsibility increases. You can become the bottleneck without meaning to. Delegation underperforms. Decisions stack up. Relationships experience more strain.
Most people respond by working harder or tightening control. That’s a bit like turning the radio up because the engine’s making a funny noise. It covers up the issue for a while. Then it doesn’t.
WHO THIS IS FOR & HOW I WORK:
I work with people who care deeply about their business and want a trusted sounding board who understands the system but isn’t trapped inside it.
Some are preparing to scale. Some are already scaling and are no longer willing to accept the trade-offs that came with it. Others feel the pressure early and have the wisdom to address it before it hardens into something far more expensive to unwind.
This isn’t coaching for reassurance, cheerleading, or chasing the latest leadership trend. We focus on the decisions that carry the most weight and the least margin for error. The ones that quietly shape your results, your energy, and your steadiness long before they show up on a dashboard.
That work usually starts with the business itself: structure, leadership leverage, and the places where the organization is leaning too heavily on you without saying so.
And it doesn’t stop there.
Relationship dynamics, whether at work or at home, don’t stay compartmentalized. They bleed into focus, judgment, and leadership presence. When those pressures go unexamined, progress slows and complexity multiplies.
When your alignment is restored, things simplify. Execution gets cleaner. Decisions get easier. And growth finally feels like it’s working as advertised.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER:
My clients report feeling less like they’re holding everything together with willpower and more like they’re actually leading. They sleep better. Their teams step up. The business doesn’t need them to solve every problem.
Some specific outcomes:
๐ธย Multiple seven-figure revenue growth (the sustainable kind, not the “I’m working 80 hours a week” kind)
๐ธย Successful business exits and acquisitions
๐ธย Teams that actually function without daily intervention
๐ธย Client/customer bases that are more profitable and less exhausting
๐ธย The ability to take a holiday without everything going to pieces
But the most meaningful shift is rarely just operational:
Clients often say the real difference shows up in how they feel day to day.
Less internal friction.
More presence with the people who matter.
A sense that they’re no longer contorting themselves to keep everything running.
They’re not just leading a business more effectively. They’re living in a way that finally feels coherent.
HOW I GOT HERE:
I came to the U.S. from Australia in 1989 with a backpack and not much else. I fell in love with the place – and the people – and stayed. Over the next twenty years, I did what driven people do: founded and sold a business, joined a startup that was later acquired by a Fortune 500, moved through corporate roles leading global teams and managing a $25M portfolio, invested in real estate, built a coaching practice, and raised a family.
From the outside, it looked sorted. But on the inside? I was running on fumes, telling myself that exhaustion was just the price of admission for success.
Life Had Other Plans
My wake-up call arrived disguised as the only panic attack I’ve ever had, screaming down the freeway at 80 miles an hour. I was rushing to the pound before it closed, trying to locate a friend’s lost dog because the dog sitter who was supposed to be handling it wasn’t.
Here’s the thing: That frantic dash wasn’t really about a lost dog. It was about a long-standing habit of stepping in when others didn’t – even when I was already over-committed.
That moment forced a re-evaluation. I began looking for a way to succeed that held space for stillness and didn’t rely on constant self-sacrifice. One that still honored ambition, responsibility, and care for others – without the burnout tax.
When Instinct Becomes Your North Star
Then, life handed me another defining moment. When my parents unexpectedly passed away just two hours apart, I didn’t miss it. I was there in person holding their hands – despite living halfway across the world.
I was living in San Francisco at the time, when one of those still moments I now practice led to an urgent message that made zero practical sense: drop everything and fly home to Australia. Right now. That willingness to listen to and act on this guidance led me to be there for them, and for my family, in a moment that mattered more than anything.
The Missing Piece Most Leaders Don’t Know They’re Missing
This helped me recognize a deeper gap in leadership. Too many high-achievers get caught up in the chase and lose track of their own instincts. We strategize, plan, and execute, but don’t pause long enough to listen to the guidance that could inform our most critical decisions.
That experience fundamentally changed how I work. Today, my coaching helps leaders sharpen not just their thinking, but their discernment. We take opportunities to slow things down enough to hear what’s already there, so decisions are no longer driven by pressure, habit, or momentum alone. The result is leadership that’s clearer, steadier, and more grounded in what you actually know to be true.
WORKING TOGETHER
This isn’t a program with modules and homework. It’s month-to-month coaching that evolves as your business does.
We work on the decisions that carry real weight. The patterns that keep showing up under different names. The structural issues that create friction. The internal blocks that interfere with execution.
Some clients stay for six years and more. Not because of a contract, but because the conversation keeps being worth having.
